Synchronized swimming is a performance sport done in the water, which infuses swimming, ballet and gymnastics. Performances are done in singles, pairs or teams of four to eight swimmers who must move in synch with each other to music. In competitions, synchronized swimmers are judged according to the difficulty of the routine, how well the performers are synchronized with each other as well as the creativity of the presentation and interpretation of the music.
Synchronized swimmers make it look easy moving gracefully in the water, but there is more to it than what you see on the surface. Synchronized swimming is a discipline that requires strength, stamina, flexibility, and a good pair of lungs! |
